man was accused of blaspheming Islam. The man was allegedly
mispronounced the Hausa phrase, 'Na Annabi ya zo kauwa' (God is for
everybody) by a passers-by, who overheard him and assumed that he was
blaspheming the Islamic faith.
He alerted others, and they
started chanting "Allah hu Akbar", setting Houses, cars and businesses,
mostly of Christians and Southerners leaving in the area.
The casualty figure is still unknown, as the security officers have been drafted to control the situation.
Bichi town is 45 kilometres to Kano city.
